Sushi Making With The Whole School

Last Wednesday we hosted a sushi kitchen. We set up four stations equipped with one room four student, nori and sushi mat, fillings and a big bowl of rice. We each got a mixture of students at each table. It as a little bit more challenging with the room ones because they were very hands-on. Making sushi was a really fun experience and I would do it again. It was a little bit challenging to try and get everyone to participate in the rolling part. We also learnt how to say thank you and good morning.

sexism inquiry

Why are women treated differently than men?

Why did I choose this because I think that gender stereotypes
and men taking advantage of women and calling them names make them feel empowered.

This is an issue that we can try to make better but it will never really ever go away.
It imposes limits on what men and boys can and should do and what women and girls
can and can't do. Sexism can be a belief that one gender is better or more valuable than
another gender. The unadjusted average female's annual salary has commonly been cited
as being 78% and the average male salary is 80–98% for the adjusted average salary.
The dictionary definition is prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women.
The beginning of the movement was a group of women who fought hard for women's votes.
They got their name from the word suffrage, which means the right to vote. That was the
beginning for women to prove that we have a voice and that the males can't shut them out.
In our history, women are a role model for young powerful women but what about the men
are they being shaped to treat women with respect and kindness. Our role models in our
history are the classic women of our time. the women we all looked up to was the “perfect”
height, weight, hair length and waist size when that “perfect” person had been battling all of
these things but we never got to see that because they couldn't tell the world because it would
ruin their image but that is besides the point. I know what you are thinking another feminist
ranting about how hard it is to be a girl, No I'm just a human being Trying to try and shed light
on this issue. But let’s be real this will never leave this will always be around no matter how
many times we come up with a solution.

Why is this an issue?

You may be asking why is this a problem? Or why can't boys/girls just always be on top?
Well, I think we all should have equal rights and that we are all human no matter what
gender.

Where am I? Holiday writing

Hearing sticks crunching and cousins yelling “Monkey tails!”

Smelling the earthy grass and freshwater coming up ahead.

Tasting the crisp air circling around my cold cheeks as we exit.

Feeling the wet apple core in my hand about to launch.

Feeling my face get fire hot.

Seeing the apple getting closer to the gumboot... I get it in and It bounces out!

WHERE AM I?

Eel poem

last week on the 27/8/19 we took a trip down to the Hustlers to look at their pet long-finned eels. We took down smelly venison to feed them. it was a muggy day in Matawai so some of the eels were still hiding. But we did end up getting to see about 4. We got back to school and wrote some poems.

Tossing,
luring,
Silently lurking
beneath the overgrowth.
Tugging,
whipping,
making it harder for me.
Slipping,
falling, then SNAP...he won

Eel Writing

today in room 4 we wrote creative writing based on a book we wrote about Eels and we got to choose if we wanted to be the eel or the human. I chose the eel. Here is my writing hope you like it and if you have any questions leave them in the comments

I dart through the water on the hunt for my next meal. My stomach grumbles as I hunt. I was so hungry I could eat a rock. But the meal I have been looking forward to my whole life was the man. I had heard tales for the wise eels, about this young man who tastes as fine. One day I saw him this man he was caring a bone hook with fresh meat on the end . he scurried up the tall totara tree, he swung his line into my river. I had been told not to bite anything that had been thrown into the water. I was so hungry I had to take a bite. I pull back and forth and man pulls back forth until twack the line had snapped and both of us went back and hit our heads and I never saw the man again

RESPECT

For the past weeks, Room 4 has been writing Posters about respect and
why respect is important And if someone came into our school how
I didn't know what respect is all about.
We could display I work digitally or the old fashioned way of just making a poster.
We first Had to write down signs of respect.
We were just thinking about what respect means to us and why is it important.

Respect is Treating people how you want to be treated.
respect not calling people names so you can boost yourself up.

respect making people feel happy and bubbly. Respect is caring for others.
Respect is like finding that missing puzzle piece.
Respect is so much more than a being a good friend it is excepting them.
If we respect people we could just live in peace and harmony.s
